New Residents
For new residents formally residing in cities (or really anywhere else in Australia!), Andamooka living can take a little getting used to.
Firstly, the Andamooka Power House is privately owned. To set up a new connection, visit the staff at the IGA who can provide you with the correct forms. Some power metres are set up to accept pre-paid power cards. These can also be purchased at the IGA in amounts of $20 or $50.
There are no mains water in Andamooka, it is delivered by trucks straight into your water tank. Ask a local or contact APOMA for further details.
Andamooka Primary School is located next to/slightly behind the Anadmooka town hall. School years are reception through to year 5. The centre is also a kindy, child care and public library where many functions are held, eg, mothers group. For children not attending this school and attend either school in Roxby Downs, a bus picks children up and returns them in the afternoon.
There are over 100 roads in Anadmooka, all but 4 are sealed. During wet weather conditions can become unstable.
There is no rubbish removal. The Andamooka dump is roughly 2km from town heading East. There is singage explaining where to dump general household rubbish and hard waste. There is no fee to use this facility.
